It would seem like the UFC isn’t the only promotion looking to run multiple empty arena shows as Cage Warriors is now going to be doing the same thing.
Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan recently took to Twitter to reveal the promotion has secured a private location to hold multiple fight cards at:
Arena shows with fans I don’t believe will happen for months, that won’t stop the team & I providing a platform for our fighters to compete. Private location sorted to hold multiple @CageWarriors fight cards. I’l push the button when the time is right & the fighters are ready ----— Graham Boylan ---- (@GrahamBoylan) April 7, 2020
The promotion did postpone their next two events (Cage Warriors 114 and Cage Warriors 115) due to the coronavirus pandemic. There is no word at this time as to when the promotion will return to action, as Boylan tweeted that he’ll “push the button” when the time is right.
If Cage Warriors follows through with the plans to run more empty arena shows, it would make them and the UFC as the only promotions to actively run events during the coronavirus pandemic.
