The UK-based Cage Warriors Fighting Championships signed a grand total of eighteen fighters to contracts in the last few days, but of those eighteen fighters signed, two of them are veterans of the UFC.
Those two UFC veterans that were recently signed by Cage Warriors are middleweight Che Mills and bantamweight Vaughan Lee.
“I want to welcome all of the new guys to the Cage Warriors family…We are in this big, and we will continue to deliver more great events to our network partners, BT Sport, Viasat and UFC Fight Pass. This is one of the best platforms for any MMA fighter to display their skills” said Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan.
Mills fought a total of four times under the UFC banner, defeating Duane Ludwig and Chris Cope, while suffering a defeat to Rory MacDonald and fighting Matthew Riddle to a no contest.
Lee competed a grand total of eight times in the UFC, earning three wins in the promotion over Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto, Motonobu Tezuka and Nam Phan, while some of his notable defeats came to Chris Cariaso, TJ Dillashaw and Raphael Assuncao.
There is no return date set yet for Mills, who has competed in the promotion before and no debut date set yet for Lee, who has never competed in the promotion before.
The next show for the promotion will be Cage Warriors 79, which is taking place on Saturday, October 15th from the Newport Centre in Newport, Wales with Jack Marshmann and Andreas Michailidis headlining.
