Caleb Plant To Defend IBF Super Middleweight Title Against Mike Lee On Pacquiao-Thurman Undercard

Before Fox has a pay-per-view event headlined by Manny Pacquiao's next fight, Caleb Plant will get to defend his IBF super middleweight title on Fox television.

Plant will defend his title against unbeaten contender Mike Lee on July 20 on a Fox-televised boxing card. That fight will serve as the lead-in to the Fox pay-per-view taking place at a venue yet to be announced.

The last time Fox showed a boxing card that served as the lead-in to a pay-per-view event was in August 2017 when Yordenis Ugas emerged victorious in the Fox-televised main event that led right into the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor event in Las Vegas.

The 26-year-old Plant won the IBF title back in January on a PBC on FS1 card from Los Angeles. In that fight, Plant dropped Jose Uzcategui twice en route to a unanimous decision to capture his first world title. Plant has won all 18 of his pro bouts with 10 of those wins coming from inside the distance.

Lee has been fighting professionally since 2010 and will be dropping down from light heavyweight to super middleweight. Lee will be fighting for the first time since June 2018 when he defeated Jose Hernandez to win the NABO title. Entering this fight, Lee is ranked No. 14 by the WBA and No. 15 by the IBF at light heavyweight.

As for the Fox pay-per-view, the main event will be Pacquiao fighting Keith Thurman for the WBA welterweight title. This will be Pacquiao's second fight on PBC since signing with the company late last year.
