Caleb Plant: "I Have Everything To Lose" In Fight Against Mike Lee

Caleb Plant said he doesn't plan on losing his first world title defense against Mike Lee in July.

During the first press conference for the fight in New York City, Plant talked about his upbringing and some of the struggles that he has faced, mainly the death of his mother in recent months and the death of his daughter, and said Lee didn't had to go through that same kind of adversity. Given how he just reached the top of the mountain in the 168-pound division, Plant believes he is the fighter with more to lose than Lee.

Plant won the IBF super middleweight title back in January when he faced Jose Uzcategui in Los Angeles. Plant dropped Uzcategui twice in the fight en route to a unanimous decision victory.

"Mike Lee may have a financial degree, but in boxing, I have a Ph.D. That's something he doesn't know anything about. I came from very rock bottom, where nobody makes it out. If he thinks I'm going to let him mess this up for me, he's not half as educated as I thought he was. I have everything to lose. Every night from now until July 20, I hope Lee and his team are envisioning the worlds 'and still'. Because that's all anyone is going to hear on fight night," Plant said.

The title fight will headline a PBC on Fox telecast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on July 20. The Fox-televised card will serve as the lead-in to a pay-per-view card headlined by the WBA welterweight title bout between Manny Pacquiao and Keith Thurman.
