Canelo Alvarez has won another world title with an incredible boxing display.
This time, it came with a quick and dominant performance over Rocky Fielding to win the WBA "regular" super middleweight title. Alvarez scored a third-round stoppage victory after scoring multiple knockdowns throughout the fight.
The fight headlined a boxing card at Madison Square Garden that was streamed on DAZN. It was the first fight in Alvarez's history-making deal with DAZN, worth $365 million over the course of 11 fights. Below is the ending of the fight, taken from Fightful's live coverage of the fight:
Round 3: Fielding throws a couple of punches upstairs and Canelo simply continues to punish Fielding’s body. Canelo lets his hands go and and Fielding is not able to defend against Canelo’s power. Canelo lands a short uppercut to Fielding’s gut. Fielding connects with a 1-2 combination upstairs. Canelo lands a hard right hand upstairs to knock down Fielding yet again. Canelo hits another body shot and Fielding takes a knee. The referee stops the fight and Canelo is the new WBA “Regular” super middleweight champion.

With the win, Alvarez is now a three-division champion, having won world titles at junior middleweight and at middleweight. Alvarez may be the new champion at 168 pounds, but he does not plan on defending the title anytime soon, if ever. Alvarez previously stated that he will move back down to middleweight after the fight against Fielding as Alvarez is the current WBA "super" and WBC middleweight champion.
At the moment, the only clue as to when Alvarez could potentially fight again, Golden Boy Promotions reserved the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for May 4, 2019 for a boxing card on DAZN.
