Canelo Alvarez vs. Daniel Jacobs Attendance, Gate, Suspensions

The Canelo Alvarez vs. Daniel Jacobs attendance number has been unveiled per the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The commission announced that the middleweight title unification that took place on May 4 at the T-Mobile Arena sold 15,370 tickets with 1,388 complimentary tickets being handed out. The actual attendance number ended up being more than 3,000 less than the previously announced figure of 20,203.

The commission also announced that the total live gate for the event being $8,685,750. Compared to Alvarez's last fight in Las Vegas, which was the rematch against Gennadiy Golovkin back in September 2018, the fight against Jacobs saw a 68 percent decrease in revenue from the live gate, per Jake Donovan.

As for any medical suspensions, a number of fighters have been suspended all with varying degrees of length. Below are the fighters who fought on the Canelo vs. Jacobs card that were handed suspensions:

  • Mauricio Herrera: Suspended until June 19/No contact allowed until June 4
  • Freddy Fonseca: Suspended until June 19/No contact allowed until June 4
  • Lamont Roach Jr.: Suspended until June 4/No contact allowed until May 26
  • Sadam Ali: Suspended until June 19/No contact allowed until June 4
  • Bilal Akkawy: Suspended until July 4/No contact allowed until June 19
  • Aram Avagyan: Suspended until June 4/No contact allowed until May 26
  • Francisco Esparza Jr.: Suspended until June 4/No contact allowed until May 26
  • Billy Wagner: Suspended until June 4/No contact allowed until May 26

Alvarez ended up winning the fight by unanimous decision to become the unified WBA, WBC and IBF middleweight champion.
