Card Set For Bellator MMA/Monster Energy Fight Series Event On August 19

The card has been announced for the August 19 Bellator MMA/Monster Energy Fight Series event and the main event is a welterweight division fight as Ben Sergent takes on Brandon Bell.

Sergent (6-0-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and only one of his professional MMA fights have gone the distance. Sergent is also competing for the first time in almost two years, with his last bout being a win over Josh Cardwell in October of 2015. Sergent has seen his last four fights end via submission and it has been over three years since the last time one of his fights didn’t end in that manner.

Bell (3-4-0) is also going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he is also returning to action for the first time in over two years. Bell has previously held the Warriors MMA Welterweight Title, defeating Jonathan Cook by fourth round submission to win the gold. Bell also competed fifteen times as an amateur MMA fighter, winning just seven of those fifteen fights.

Other bouts on the card include Nick Gehrts against Ken Beverly, Damir Ferhatbegovic against Joanthan Pearce and Ahva Mayi against Preston Schick.

Bellator MMA/Monster Energy Fight Series takes place on Saturday, August 19 from the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee with Ben Sergent and Brandon Bell headlining.
