Carl Frampton Signs Co-Promotional Deal To Join Top Rank Boxing

Carl Frampton has signed a co-promotional deal with Top Rank Boxing.

The former world champion becomes the latest fighter promoted by Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions to join Bob Arum's ever-growing roster of world-class boxers as Tyson Fury also signed with the U.S. company several weeks back.

In a press release sent to Fightful, Frampton expressed joy over signing a deal to join Top Rank and hopes to get an eventual shot at WBO featherweight champion Oscar Valdez.

"It’s an honor for me to be teaming up with Top Rank for what will be the last chapter of my career. A credit to my management team, MTK Global, on being able to get me a deal with the biggest boxing promotional company on the planet. It also makes a fight, at some point in the future, with WBO champion Oscar Valdez a real possibility. My goal, at this stage of my career, is still to become a world champion, and I feel I’ll reach my goal with MTK and Bob Arum's Top Rank in my corner," Frampton said.

Frampton previously held the WBA "Super" featherweight title after defeating Leo Santa Cruz in the summer of 2017. Frampton lost the rematch in January 2018, but bounced back with a win over Nonito Donaire in April 2018 to win the interim WBO featherweight title. After defeating Luke Jackson in August, Frampton went on to challenge for Josh Warrington's IBF featherweight title last December. Warrington won a 12-round decision against Frampton to retain the IBF title.

An announcement of Frampton's next fight will be announced in the near future.
