Cezar Ferreira Was An Uber Driver In Between UFC Fights

Cezar Ferreira defeated Jack Marshmann at UFC Fight Night 100 to get his third straight win in the promotion, but while healing from back surgery in the summer of 2015, Ferreira became an Uber driver.

“I’m so glad that I did that,” Ferreira said to MMA Junkie. “It was a good experience. After that, I think about the value of money. It’s hard to make money in life.”

Since coming back from his injury, Ferreira has yet to reenter the Uber driving world as the promotion he calls home has paid him well.

“I’m well paid for my fights,” he said. “It could be better, for sure. It’s about time. I’ve put in the hard work in fighting well every single time. I know I’m going to get what I really deserve.”

One of the reasons that Ferreira is “well paid" for his fights may be due to the “performance of the night” bonus he was by defeating Marshmann at UFC Fight Night 100. That award came in the form of a $50,000 bonus.

Ferreira isn’t the only athlete or celebrity to drive for Uber, others like Senator Ben Sasse (Nebraska), the voice of America Online’s “You’ve Got Mail” (Elwood Edwards), Oglethorpe University President Larry Schall, DJ/music producer Deadmau5 and multi-time NBA Champion Shaquille O’Neal have all stepped behind the wheel for them at some point in time.
