One Championships 64 will have a historical main event, because for the first time in the promotion?s history, a champion versus champion bout is taking place.
That?s because at One Championships 64, it is going to be Eduard Folayang defending the lightweight title against featherweight champion Martin Nguyen.
Folayang (18-5-0) is making the second defense of his championship, last defending it against Ev Ting at One Championships: Kings Of Destiny. Folayang won the belt when he pulled a huge upset over Shinya Aoki at One Championships: Defending Honor. Folayang enters the fight on the strength of a four fight winning streak and he hasn?t suffered a defeat in almost three years.
Nguyen (9-1-0) enters the fight riding a five fight winning streak and he hasn?t suffered a defeat in over two years. Nguyen just won the featherweight title earlier this year at One Championsips: Quest For Greatness, defeating Marat Gafurov by second round knockout. Nguyen has yet to see any of his professional MMA fights go the distance and only one of his bouts went to the third round.
