After controversy surrounded both men, Kelvin Gastelum and Chris Weidman will lock horns.

Gastelum (13-2, 1 NC) and Weidman (13-3) will do battle at UFC on Fox on July 22 in New York, serving as a headliner for the event. The fight was announced during the UFC's Summer Kickoff press conference on Friday.

Chael Sonnen vs Anderson Silva 1 At UFC 117 Announced To Be Inducted Into The UFC Hall Of Fame

Weidman is in the middle of appealing his TKO loss to Gegard Mousasi from UFC 210. Weidman was rendered unable to continue after an initially questionable knee from Mousasi caused a break in the action.

Gastelum was scheduled to face Anderson Silva at UFC 212, but was pulled after he failed for a substance known as Carboxy-THC, which is a marijuana metabolite or hashish, according to USADA.

Weidman is currently ranked #6, while Gastelum was pulled from the rankings after his 90 day suspension was announced.

UFC on Fox takes place from NYCB Live from Long Island, New York on July 22.
