Christian Edwards Rips Opponent For Missing Weight

MMA

Christian Edwards and Roman Huerta were supposed to clash tonight at Bellator 218, but Huerta never weighed in for the fight and the bout was pulled from the card.

Huerta allegedly came into the official weigh-ins well over the light heavyweight limit (206 pounds with the one pound allowance) and the athletic commission wouldn’t let Huerta weigh-in or compete.

Edwards is not happy with how everything went down and displayed that anger through Instagram:

If Edwards is accurate and Huerta was coming into the event at 227 pounds, it would mean that Huerta was 19 pounds over the light heavyweight weight limit.

There is no word yet on when Edwards will fight again, as this bout would’ve marked both his professional MMA and Bellator MMA debut.
