Claressa Shields and Christina Hammer have successfully made weight for their historic women's title bout tomorrow.
Shields and Hammer, both undefeated champions, will fight to crown the first-ever women's middleweight champion with the winner walking away with the WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF and Ring Magazine titles.
Fightful spoke with Shields at length to discuss the fight as well as a number of topics, including the growth of women's boxing and her desire to have a pay-per-view bout against undisputed women's welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus. That interview can be seen at this link.
The card will also feature a pair of heavyweight bouts, including the U.S. debut of unbeaten contender Otto Wallin. Wallin spoke with Fightful to discuss his future if he defeats Nick Kisner on April 13 and said he hopes to fight for a world heavyweight title next year. Rising prospect Jermaine Franklin is fighting on the card as he takes on former heavyweight contender Rydell Booker.
