Team Nova Uniao out of Brazil is one of the most highly respected fight teams, not just in Brazil, but in the whole world.

Coach Andre Pederneiras is moving the team to a new training center next month and he believes all the fighters will benefit in the new facility.

"First of all, we will have exclusive times for professionals to train, something that we didn’t have inside my gym,” he said after an MMA event in Brazil. "The idea here is to create a boxing team, a muay thai team, a wrestling team, and compete in (the arena), to hold tournaments here as well. That will end up forcing the athletes to compete, wether or not they have a (MMA) fight booked. I believe the motivation to compete will increase, and we will benefit a lot from it."

A lot of big name Brazilian fighters have trained at Nova Uniao, including current Bellator MMA Bantamweight Champion Eduardo Dantas, former UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo, former UFC Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao and a host of others.

Pederneiras decided to open up the new facility because he has a passion for the sport of MMA and its fighters.

"In a country that has no support for anything… I’m a businessman that invests in it, but the majority of the athletes in Brazil don’t have that,” Pederneiras said. "I can do it because I have other businesses and this is my passion, but when a guy can’t pay his bills, send them away (to the United States), even if he’s my best athlete."

Outside of being a training facility for Nova Uniao fighters, the new training center will also host MMA events as well.
