Cody Garbrandt Brings Up The Potential Of Holding All Steroid Fights

Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt is recovered from injuries that have kept him from being in the Octagon since UFC 235.

One thing that Garbrandt can lay claim to is having passed all of drug testing administered against him since turning pro in December of 2012.

?But I know I?m the best in the world, drug free,? Garbrandt said backstage at UFC Fight Night Sacramento (via Steven Marrocco & Ken Hathaway of MMA Junkie). ?I?ve had over 40 tests from USADA, and there?s nothing that?s been illegal.?

Since the UFC started doing drug testing alongside the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), a total of 81 fighters have failed tests according to the USADA website.

Gabrandt believes that if more stringent testing cannot be done by USADA, it should open the doors to the UFC hold all steroid fights between fighters on illegal substances.

?If you?re going to draw a line on what we can do or how we can test ? you can?t keep this sample, you can?t detect the EPO ? then what are we getting tested for? Let it all be legal, and let?s all get juiced up and go in there and (expletive) each other up,? he said. ?That?s ultimately what they want.?

It is highly unlikely that the UFC is going to purposely hold all steroid fights, but the promotion did want to hold more tests in 2019 and beyond.
