Colby Covington Blames UFC For Capturing Corner Audio At UFC 245, Wants Rematch With Kamaru Usman

MMA

Former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington suffered a fifth round TKO loss to UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman in the main event of UFC 245.

Covington has already blamed alleged fake fouls and bad officiating for the UFC 245 loss, but now the fighter is adding the UFC?s recording of his corner audio as another reason for the defeat.

?Is that legal that they can get my corner audio in between rounds? Whether my jaw is broken or it isn?t broken, to get that information in a world championship fight when there?s two rounds left to go. That?s huge information,? Covington said to MMA Fighting. ?I don?t care if you?re down and you?re completely ready to quit. That?s going to get you right up like, ?I?ve got this guy on the ropes now.? That?s f*cking corrupt in itself.?

It should've been known by Covington and his corner that the UFC has shown fighter?s corners in between rounds throughout the majority of their broadcasting history.

A defeated Covington believes there is only one way to right the wrong and that is a rematch with Usman.

?My next fight should be the automatic rematch with ?Marty Fakenewsman,?? Covington said. ?I?m still America?s champ. I?m still Donald Trump?s favorite fighter. I?m still the people?s champion. The people want this more than ever. The people saw for their eyes. I don?t care what the promotion wants to do, because we know they do some stupid things; that?s a whole other story in itself. I?m talking what the people want. The people that paid their hard-earned money for the tickets. The people that buy your pay-per-views. The people want this rematch. They saw with their own eyes what happened in that fight. What happened in that fight was me beating the sh*t out of ?Marty Fakenewsman? for 24 minutes and then the ref completely saving him and bailing him out with a fake stoppage.?

Usman is reportedly facing Jorge Masvidal next at UFC International Fight Week, meaning that Covington could be on the outside looking in for quite awhile.
