Kamaru Usman is challenging Tyron Woodley for the UFC Welterweight Championship in the co-main event of UFC 235.

Former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington would make his presence known by crashing the UFC 235 Open Workouts with a microphone and heckling Usman during said workout.

The former interim welterweight champion's heckling lasted around a minute before he stopped to speak with the media. Covington said during that brief media session that he wants a shot at the winner of Woodley versus Usman.

Usman didn’t think it was Covington who was heckling him, as the fighter thought it was a bum who was making all the racket.

“I thought it was a bum,” Usman said after the open workout (via MMA Junkie). “I looked over and it looked like a bum on the street that bought one of the replica belts. He had some little trucker hat. I was like, is that a bum? I looked closer and I saw it. There’s a reason you’re outside the ropes. You couldn’t be inside. You’re outside, so stay on the outside and keep making noise.”

UFC 235 takes place on Saturday, March 2 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Anthony Smith headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
