A big debut is happening on the preliminary card as Dulce Maria Garcia, pro wrestling competitor Sexy Star, makes her professional MMA debut against Mariana Ruiz Avila.

TICKETS ON SALE MONDAY, MARCH 25LOS ANGELES – March 21, 2019 – Combate Americas today announced its return to Monterrey, N.L., Mex. with it’s second, annual ‘Estrellas’ (‘Stars’) extravaganza, featuring a collection of the premier Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise’s top, world-class fight talent, live in Spanish in the U.S. on both Univision (12 a.m. ET/PT) and UDN (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m.PT), and in English in the U.S. and Canada on DAZN (10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT), from the historic Arena Sulaiman on Friday, April 12.
Announced today for “Combate Estrellas” were eight star-studded matchups, including a featherweight (145 pounds) main event showdown between superstars and Monterrey-born rivals Alejandro “Gallito” Flores (15-2) and Levy “El Negro” Marroquin (12-2).
The 27-year-old Flores was the runner-up at the 2018 “COPA COMBATE” one-night, eight-man, $100,000 grand prize featherweight tournament last December 7, while Marroquin was the winner of the 2017, inaugural “COPA COMBATE” tournament that took place in the bantamweight (135 pounds) division.
In the “Combate Estrellas” bantamweight co-main event announced today, John “Sexi Mexi” Castaneda (16-4) of Mankato, Minn. will make his much-anticipated return to La Jaula, the Combate Americas cage, against Marcelo “Pitbull” Rojo (15-5) of Cordoba, Argentina.
Priced from $300 MXN, tickets for “Combate Estrellas” will go on sale at Ticketmaster.com on Monday, March 25 am 10 a.m. CT.
Also announced today was a featured matchup between world champion Daniel Barez (10-4) of Valencia, Spain and Ivan Hernandez Flores (10-2-1) of Monterrey.
In preliminary bout action announced today, former Lucha Undergroundchampion and undefeated boxer “Sexy Star” Dulce Maria Garcia (0-0) of Monterrey will make her much-anticipated MMA debut against Mariana Ruiz Avila (0-0) of Monterrey at a catchweight of 118 pounds.
Returning to action will be Joey “El Cazador” Ruquet (6-2) of Las Vegas, Nev. in a bantamweight showdown with Alan “Beche” Cantu (8-5) of Monterrey.
Undefeated Juan Carlos Ramos Diaz (3-0) of Monterrey will face off with Fernando Gonzales Trevino (3-2) of San Jose, Calif. via Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mex. at welterweight (170 pounds).
In lightweight (155 pounds) action, Rodrigo “Kazula” Vargas (9-2) of Mexico City, Mex. will battle Ricardo “El Loco” Arreola (6-5) of Monterrey.
Ivan Perez (5-6) of Monterrey will meet an opponent to be announced soon as will Karen Cedillo (1-1) of Monterrey.
Doors at Arena Sulaiman will open for “Combate Estrellas” at 7 p.m. local time, and the first preliminary bout will begin at 8 p.m.
