Tickets on sale nowLOS ANGELES – May 2, 2019 – Combate Americas today announced its return to Tucson, Ariz. with a star-studded Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event at AVA Amphitheater at Casino Del Sol on Friday, June 7, live on television in Spanish in the U.S. on both Univision (12 a.m. ET/PT) and UDN (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m.PT), and in English in the U.S. and Canada on DAZN (10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT).
“Combate Americas: Tucson Unbreakable” will be headlined by the return of former world bantamweight (135 pounds) champion Jose “Pochito” Alday (12-4-1), who will square off with fellow Combate Americas veteran and prolific striker Irwin “The Beast” Rivera (7-4).

The first world champion in Combate Americas history, the 27-year-old Alday of Tucson, Ariz. via Hermosillo, Sonora, Mex. relinquished his title in a rematch with fellow, fast-rising star Gustavo Lopez, who scored a first round (2:19) TKO (strikes) on Alday at Casino Del Sol on March 29.
One fight prior to their second meeting, Alday was crowned champion after earning a split decision over Lopez last September 14.
The 30-year-old Rivera of West Palm Beach, Fla. via New Windsor, N.Y. is coming off what is arguably his career-best performance to date – a first round (1:40) TKO (punches and head kick) of Lazar Stojadinovic on March 15.
In other “Combate Americas: Tucson Unbreakable” action announced today, Javier “Chunty Boy” Torres (10-5) of Phoenix, Ariz. via Sonora, Nogales, Mex. will take on Joel Champion (5-1) of Tucson in a middleweight (185 pounds) contest.
Jose Luis “Puppy” Calvo (8-1) of Chicago, Ill. via Santo Domingo, Heredia, Costa Rica will make his Combate Americas promotional debut against Eduardo Alvarado “El Pube” Osuna (7-5) of Tijuana, B.C., Mex. in a bantamweight affair.
Unbeaten, 23-year-old upstart Levi Escobar (1-0) of Tucson will collide with Austin Wourms (1-1) of Phoenix.
