Conor McGregor Blows Out His Knee In First Fight In Five Years

The return of Conor McGregor lasted just 69 seconds.
Conor McGregor returned to the cage for the first time in five years, and unfortunately for fans the fight ended in just 69 seconds as McGregor blew out his knee on the opening strike against Max Holloway. Charging out with a switch kick, McGregor landed on his right leg, and it gave out immediately. He tried to stand and continue, but fell every time he threw a kick.
He kept favoring his right leg as he stood and Holloway motioned that the fight should be stopped. Finally, as McGregor winced while just moving, the referee stopped the fight due to injury.

McGregor did not speak in the post-fight interview.
This was McGregor’s first fight since July 2021 when he broke his lower tibia against Dustin Poirier. McGregor had lost three of his last four before this fight while Holloway lost two of his last three proior to UFC 329.
McGregor previously defeated Holloway by unanimous decision in 2013.
