Report: Conor McGregor Cleared In Sexual Assault Case

It appears as though one legal saga surrounding Conor McGregor has been put to rest.

McGregor has reportedly been cleared of all charges stemming from an attempted sexual assault case in September due to a lack of evidence. McGregor was arrested and had to withdraw from a charity event as a result of the accusation.

The City of Bastia sent McGregor a letter notifying him of his clearing. Via TMZ, it stated:

"The examination of the present proceedings does not justify any criminal prosecution since:

-- The facts or the circumstances of the facts of the proceedings could not have been clearly established by the investigations.

-- The pieces of evidence are therefore not sufficient for the offense to be constituted and for criminal prosecution to be engaged."

This is not the first time McGregor has been accused of something of this nature. In 2019, multiple allegations of sexual assault were made following a report from 2018. McGregor has not been charged with anything further since it was brought about.

McGregor is set to return to action at UFC 264 in Las Vegas. He will take on Dustin Poirier in a trilogy fight on July 10.
