Conor McGregor To Compete In Charity Wheelchair Boxing Match

Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor is making his return to action, but probably not in the way you'd expect.

Comedian Sir Stevo Timothy who is also an ambassador for the Irish Wheelchair Association announced via his Twitter account that McGregor would be facing impressionist Al Foran in a wheelchair boxing bout on September 11 that will help raise funds for the IWA. The Irish superstar is of course still healing from the gruesome left leg injury he suffered in his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier back at UFC 264. UFC President Dana White revealed recently that he expects McGregor to be out at least a year from competing inside of the Octagon to recover from the injury.

Shortly after publication, ESPN's Marc Raimondi said McGregor's participation was now off.
