Conor McGregor steps up his mental warfare against Dustin Poirier as the trilogy edges closer

One of Conor McGregor's biggest strengths is his ability to get inside the heads of his opponents with his mental warfare.

In his second fight against Dustin Poirier, McGregor ditched the mental warfare approach and instead was very respectful and courteous to Poirier.

This was the complete opposite approach which McGregor had in his first fight against Poirier when he got Poirier extremely emotional and successfully got inside his head.

Ahead of McGregor and Poirier's trilogy in just a few day's time, McGregor has ramped up his mental warfare game against Poirier.

Yesterday, McGregor posted a voice note to Twitter directed at Poirier saying "Dustin, peahead, I'm coming for you peahead, silly hillbilly."

And today, McGregor has continued the mental warfare as he posted a picture to Twitter that showed that Poirier's wife, Jolie, has tried to message him on Instagram.

As we have learned in the past few years, Poirier is a very big family man and is obviously very protective of them.

Could this Tweet from McGregor get in the head of Poirier or is Poirier mentally strong enough to shrug it off?
