McGregor would take to Twitter to issue a statement on the penalties levied against him, while also taking shots at UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and the champ?s team:
Nurmagomedov would get a nine month suspension (six months if Khabib does PSAs) and a fine of $500,000 for his role in the post-fight melee.
UFC President Dana White would speak out against the punishment received by Nurmagomedov, stating that it was too harsh.
?I was obviously surprised how much they put on Khabib,? said White on ESPN Sportscenter (via MMA Fighting). ?It was a half-million dollars and six months if he does some PSAs. They had the whole thing contained in seconds. It was a little harsh in my opinion. It is what it is.?
The lightweight champion has vowed to not compete again until Abubakar Nurmagomedov and Zubaira Tukhugov?s suspensions are complete, as they were handed one year suspensions from the NSAC.
