Former UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo competed in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night Fortaleza, defeating Renato Moicano by second round TKO.

Conor McGregor is a one time adversary of Aldo and he checked out the event, saying the following afterwards on Twitter:

Aldo got wind of what McGregor posted and would say that he’d like another shot at the Irishman.

“To me, it would be great,” Aldo said after the event (via MMA Junkie). “I don’t know if this fight was close in Rio. It didn’t get to me. But if I have that opportunity in a division above, that way I don’t have to suffer through the weight cut, I think it would be a great fight. I think in the first fight, I wasn’t able to show my work. He connected with a great punch, but if you have another opportunity, I think the story is going to be different.”

McGregor and Aldo met back at UFC 194, with McGregor scoring a thirteen second knockout win to win the UFC Featherweight Title.

If the rematch were to come to fruition, it would have to happen this year as Aldo revealed plans to retire before 2019 comes to a close.
