Conor McGregor isn't adding salt to CM Punk's UFC wound.
Despite calling WWE wrestlers "messed up pussies" during a press conference earlier this year, the UFC Featherweight Champion says that he doesn't think that CM Punk falls into the same territory.
“I tell ya what. Fair play to him because he got in there and fought. Not a lot of people do. Not a lot of people have the balls to make that walk, so fair play. He got his ass whooped! God bless, he got his ass whooped! Those WWE guys are straight pussies, I told you all! But, he isn’t. He got in there and fought. So fair play to him. Respect," McGregor told TMZ Sports.
Punk was quickly defeated by Mickey Gall at UFC 203 via submission. After the fight, Punk's performance garnered polarizing reactions from fighters, wrestlers, fans and personalities alike. Conor McGregor refused to comment when asked if more WWE Superstars should cross over into the UFC to fight.
Punk joins the likes of Ken Shamrock, Brock Lesnar, Dan Severn, Ludvig Borga, and Ron Waterman as names to have competed in the WWE and the UFC. Punk stated that he plans to continue to fight, even if it's not in the UFC.
