Conor McGregor Says He "Accepted UFC Offer" To Fight Dustin Poirier

Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier on a UFC card has one hurdle left to jump, according to "The Notorious" one.

Poirier reached out to McGregor publicly on Wednesday and asked for an update to their proposed match-up. UFC offered the two elite fighters a match-up after Poirier and McGregor attempted to set-up a charity bout in December. Poirier said he accepted the terms and UFC President Dana White said the promotion was waiting on a response from McGregor.

McGregor replied to Poirier on Thursday and said he offered the fight on one condition. The former two-divison UFC champion wants the fight in 2020, not 2011. McGregor proposed UFC 255 on November 21, UFC 256 on December 12 or the impending Fight Night event on December 19.

ESPN's Ariel Helwani reports that UFC offered the fight on January 23. McGregor insisted on a 2020 date and he is currently awaiting a reply from the promotion.
