Conor McGregor Says UFC Fighters Are On Steroids

MMA

UFC 200 will probably be known as the mega event that will be forever tainted by the positive drug tests for Jon Jones, who originally was set to main event the show, and Brock Lesnar, who co-main evented against Mark Hunt.

Right now the sport of MMA is undergoing through a rough patch where many accuse the fighters of using performance-enhancing drugs. Turns out, the fighters themselves also concur with those opinions.

Speaking in the UFC 202 conference call, UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor spoke on the fact that he had been tested by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) 14 times this year. He also took the chance to say that they fighters are on steroids.

“I’m happy to be tested. The boy is not far wrong, they fucking all are on steroids," McGregor said. "So it is fucked up. The co-main and the main at 200, that’s messed up to me to be honest. I don’t know. I’m happy to be tested and I know Nate’s being tested. I know Nate’s been throwing accusations at me, but it’s his teammates that have been caught before. I just hope he’s been tested as much as I’ve been tested. I’m happy to be tested. I won’t do an Aldo and throw the piss over my shoulder and ring the police like he done in Brazil. I welcome them in, I do the test and that’s it. It’s a good thing for the sport, that’s all I know so I’m happy to be test.”

Diaz now famously stated "Everyone's on steroids" months ago when asked about performance enhancing drugs. With bodies dropping as USADA ramps up their testing. It's hard to disagree.

You can listen to the full media call in the video above. McGregor will face off against Nate Diaz in the main event of UFC 202 on August 20 in the T-Moblie Arena in Las Vegas.
