The contents of the announcement are purely speculation. McGregor, the UFC Featherweight Champion will look to become the only fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two weight divisions as he attempts to take Eddie Alvarez's UFC Lightweight Title.

UFC President Dana White has stated that McGregor will be forced to vacate one of the two championships in the event that he emerges victorious at UFC 205.

“There are other circumstances involved in this that will be played out after the fight,” White said on WFAN’s “Outside The Cage” podcast. “It’s something completely out of left field but it’s Conor’s business, it’s not mine, and I’ll let Conor announce it when he’s ready to.”

McGregor would later confirm to MMA Junkie that he considers the announcement a 'positive.'

UFC 205 takes place November 12 from New York City's Madison Square Garden. Fightful.com will have full coverage of the event, including pre and post-show podcasts.
