McGregor, never one to miss an opportunity, would take to Twitter to challenge Nasukawa to a fight:
There has been no response yet from either Rizin or the UFC on the challenge made from the former two division UFC champion, but Nasukawa did respond with the following on Twitter:
Dear Mr. McGregor. @TheNotoriousMMA— 那須川 天心 (@TeppenTenshin) January 7, 2019
Thank you very much for remembering my name. I’m honored that you would even consider fighting me.

Even if the bout does come to fruition, it could be awhile before it happens anyway because McGregor and Nurmagomedov are both awaiting punishment from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for their roles in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl. The NSAC is supposed to decide their fates later this month, it is unclear as to exactly what kind of punishments both fighters may be facing.
