Conor McGregor Wants To Fight For UFC Lightweight Title Next: "Deal With It"

While he is still healing from a brutal leg injury, Conor McGregor has made his intentions known on what he wants to do when he returns.

McGregor tweeted out that he wants whoever has the UFC Lightweight Title when he gets back. He is also interested in a fourth fight against Dustin Poirier, regardless of where he is in the division. Currently, Poirier is set to face Charles Oliveira for the UFC Lightweight Title on December 11 at UFC 269.

"Hi lads, here goes.. clicks and the like. Your boss and what not. The Mac. Santy Claus. I’m facing whoever the fuck has that LW title next. Deal with it. Take off your goggles and mark the trilogy “unfinished”. Deal with that too. The rest mentioned, after this. Deal. With. It," McGregor stated.

McGregor is a former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion. After taking time off to fight Floyd Mayweather in a boxing bout, McGregor has gone 1-3 since 2018. The lightweight title was on the line in 2018 but McGregor lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Losing to Dustin Poirier in a rematch at UFC 257 to start 2021, McGregor lost the trilogy fight back in July. During the fight, he broke his tibia, which required surgery. If all goes according to plan, McGregor could return in early 2021. While also dealing with issues outside of the octagon, McGregor continues to focus on his whiskey business.
