UFC President Dana White is reportedly being sued by Ernesto Joshua Ramos in a Clark County (Nevada) district court, with the suit alleging that White and unnamed UFC attorneys broke a non-disclosure agreement.
MMA Fighting reports that Ramos claims that White and the UFC failed to compensate him for signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that shielded both White and the UFC from financial losses before the promotion was sold to Endeavor a few years back.
Ramos alleges that the NDA was signed in exchange for Ramos pleading guilty to a single extortion charge, as Ramos was caught accepting $200,000 for a video of White having sex with his (Ramos?) girlfriend, who was an exotic dancer at a club in Las Vegas.
A portion of the lawsuit states that ?the actions of White were fraudulent, oppressive and designed to encourage Ramos to plead guilty so he could negotiate a substantial settlement, which would prevent the disclosure of his actions at trial for the personal benefit of White and his related businesses and interest.?
The suit states that Ramos believed he was getting at least $1 million for signing the NDA, but was allegedly only offered $450,000 by White in April of 2016. Ramos also alleges that White would eventually back out of the potential deal, offering him nothing in the end.
White would issue the following statement on the lawsuit to the Las Vegas Review-Journal:
?I just found out that a bullsh*t lawsuit was filed against me yesterday. This guy went to federal prison for trying to extort me over five years ago. Now he?s hired a lawyer who is also a convicted felon, and he?s trying to extort me again for $10 million. He got no money from me last time and he won?t be getting any money from me this time. I look forward to the court dismissing this quickly so I can get rid of these scumbags forever.?
There is no court date set yet at this time, while neither White or the UFC have responded to the case yet via the court system.
