Dana White Claims That Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway 2 Being Made Very Soon

MMA

Alexander Volkanovski became the UFC Featherweight Champion when he scored a unanimous decision win over Max Holloway in the co-main event of UFC 245

It seemed like a rematch was inevitable between the new champion and the former champion, which could be made very soon according to UFC President Dana White

“Holloway (is next for Volkanovski),” White said on TheSchmozone podcast (via Cole Shelton of BJPenn.com). “Very, very soon. We are working on that right now.”

If the bout between the two does come together, it would be the first title defense for Volkanovski and the first time that Holloway has challenged for a title since facing former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis for the vacant UFC Interim Featherweight Title at UFC 206

Holloway would defend the UFC Featherweight Title three times before losing it to Volkanovski, with those successful title defenses coming over Jose Aldo, Brian Ortega and Frankie Edgar.

There is no word yet when the rematch will happen, as there are announced or reported main events for all upcoming UFC events through UFC 250 in May of this year.
