Dana White Doesn’t Know If Jon Jones & Francis Ngannou Really Want To Fight

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has been hinting a move up a weight class to heavyweight and Francis Ngannou has become a name that the champion is seemingly interested in facing.

Dana White has heard about the back and forth between the two fighters, but he really doesn’t know of Jones and Ngannou really want to fight each other.

“I don’t know if those guys really want that fight,” White said after UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris (via Milan Ordonez of Bloody Elbow). “Let me tell you this, and I’m not saying this is the case with these two. You see a lot of talk online or whatever it might be. Actually making fights is a whole ‘nother ball game.”

If the bout were to come together, it would feature the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion making his heavyweight division debut against the fighter ranked #2 in that division.

Jones has also previously stated that he’d like a 220 pound catchweight division fight before moving up to heavyweight, which may be too low of a weight for Ngannou to reach, potentially putting the super fight on the back burner for some time.
