Dana White Doesn’t Want Mario Yamasaki Reffing Anymore

MMA

UFC President Dana White had previously expressed his outrage against Mario Yamasaki for his allegedly terrible officiating duties during the Valentina Shevchenko/Priscila Cachoeira bout at UFC Fight Night Belem.

The UFC President is now taking things a step further by saying that he no longer wants the official to be in the cage for any future fights.

“I think he’s disgusting, and I never want to see him reffing ever again,” White said on UFC Tonight.

Yamasaki has already issued his own statement on the matter, with the referee saying that Cachoeira was given a shot to prove that she is a warrior inside of the Octagon.

White read the statement from Yamasaki and he feels the referee is nothing more than an idiot.

“She didn’t tap, and that’s the thing. The reality is, when you’re a fighter – and it’s one of the reasons this sport is as big as it is, because most of you guys don’t tap,” White said. “Most of you guys stay in there, and she did fight like a warrior. For that idiot to say he gave her the opportunity to be a warrior – no. No, you moron. You’re in there to protect her from herself. He makes me sick. That guy has no business reffing fights. And I promise you, you’re never going to see him again.”

Despite the comments from White about Yamasaki never reffing again, one thing the UFC President can't do is punish the referee because that duty falls upon the athletic commissions.
