Dana White Fires Back At Showtime Exec Over UFC 223 Criticism

UFC President Dana White and Showtime Vice President & General Manager Stephen Espinoza have had quite the rough relationship over the years.

Espinoza recently took to Twitter, where he took some shots at the way the UFC handled the lightweight title situation for the main event fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Al Iaquinta at UFC 223.

What the UFC essentially did was claim that if Iaquinta had won at UFC 223, which he didn’t, it would make the New York native the new UFC Lightweight Champion, despite the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) saying the fighter wouldn’t be recognized as a champion.

White got wind of what Espinoza said and issued the following response to the Showtime personality during the UFC 223 post-fight press conference:

“I don’t want to give this guy any publicity because he loves it, but that greasy, slimy rat Espinoza talking about how, ‘Oh, we break the rules and all this other s**t,’. What the — what’s that guy — Oh my god. Just keep trying to be HBO and don’t worry about what the f**k we’re doing. You slimy little rat.”

Early Sunday morning, a tweet was sent out by Espinoza, apparently taking another shot at the whole situation:

 

Neither White or anybody from the UFC has responded to the latest bit of mockery from the Showtime Executive.
