Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung will meet in the main event of UFC Fight Island 6 and UFC President Dana White reveals that there are high stakes attached to the encounter.
That?s because White says whomever walks away victorious in the UFC Fight Island 6 main event will get a shot at the UFC featherweight championship.
?Yes, I think so,? White said to Sports Illustrated. ?First, this kid (The Korean Zombie) has superstar written all over him. He was called into the military in the prime of his career in South Korea. Then he gets out and has that incredible fight with Yair Rodriguez. He gets caught with one second left with that crazy elbow. He?s battled a couple injuries and had some bad luck along the way, but this is a big fight with Ortega. I?m excited it?s finally happening. Whoever wins this fight, it catapults one of these guys into a shot at the title.?
Both fighters have previously had a shot at the featherweight strap, with Ortega losing to then champion Max Holloway at UFC 231 and Jung losing to then champion Jose Aldo at UFC 163.
