Dana White Proclaims Amanda Nunes To Be The Best Ever After UFC 232

Amanda Nunes became the first woman to become a two division UFC champion when she defeated Cyborg in the co-main event of UFC 232 to win the UFC Women’s Featherweight Title.

That victory at UFC 232 has given UFC President Dana White the confidence to proclaim Nunes the “best ever.”

“She’s the best ever. How can you deny it? You can’t deny that she’s the best ever. That’s what this fight was for,” White said at the UFC 232 post-fight press conference. “This fight was to find out. But if you look at her resume and who she beat, she’s the best ever. Nobody can dispute that. You can try, you can say some stupid shit, but she’s the best ever.”

Nunes, since coming to the UFC in August of 2013, has picked up notable wins over former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Germaine De Randamie, Shayna Baszler, Sara McMann, UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko (twice), former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey, Raquel Pennington and the aforementioned Cyborg.

The bout at UFC 232 lasted a mere 51 seconds, but White says it was one of the most exciting bouts fans will ever see.

“The roof came off that place when that fight ended,” White said. “It was as exciting a fight as you’ll ever see and what makes it even bigger are the stakes. You have two of the baddest women fighting to see who the baddest is. Both world champions in two different weight classes and they come out and start bombing like that. There’s nothing more fun. You couldn’t ask for anything better and that type of a fight with what was at stake.”

While the win made Nunes the best ever in White’s eyes, it would also the first time Cyborg suffered a defeat in over a decade.
