Dana White has provided an update on Jake Hager following the former pro wrestler’s injury at a recent Power Slap event.
On September 17th, Hager would appear in Power Slap, facing off with and losing by TKO to Johnny Magna. Due to the final blow in the bout, Hager would begin to bleed from his eye, resulting in him requiring emergency surgery as a result.
While speaking following this week’s Dana White’s Contender Series, Dana White would provide an update on Hager’s status, noting that Hager will be going to a specialist in Miami.
“Yeah, he went into emergency surgery that night, and then we’re sending him to a specialist down in Miami. There’s lots of unfortunate things that happen in combat sports. What you do is you make sure that you do all the proper medical testing before the fight, you have the right guys there during the fight, and you take care of these kids after the fight. I mean, it’s the biggest priority for me. Other than having great fights, the only thing I really give a shit about is that these kids are all safe and healthy.”
