Dana White Says Amanda Nunes Wants To Fight Cyborg

MMA

UFC Women?s Featherweight Champion Cyborg successfully defended the gold against former UFC Women?s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm at UFC 219

Combate caught up with UFC President Dana White prior to the event, who says UFC Women?s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes wants a bout with the UFC 219 winner, which turned out to be Cyborg.

?I love this idea and I love that Amanda wants this (winner of Cyborg vs. Holly Holm),? White said. "To be a big star, you need to have those great fights.?

Nunes hasn?t competed since successfully defending her title against Valentina Shevchenko a few months back at UFC 215. The women?s bantamweight champion has yet to compete in the women?s featherweight division, spending her entire UFC tenure at 135 pounds.

In the past, both Nunes and Cyborg have said that they didn?t want to fight each other. Obviously one of those two in Nunes has changed her mind about the potential super fight.

Cyborg has yet to comment on the latest revelation from White, but said after UFC 219 that she wanted to fight Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Megan Anderson next.

If the bout were to come together, it would be the first female champion versus female champion fight in UFC history.
