Dana White says that if Covington is able to defeat Lawler, a shot at the UFC Welterweight Title is going to be next.
?Covington is next in line, and he stepped up, he took this Lawler fight, and he?ll get the (title fight),? White said at the UFC 240 post-fight press conference (via Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie).
Kamaru Usman is the current UFC Welterweight Champion and hasn?t defended the title since winning it at UFC 235.
Jorge Masvidal is also a top contender to the UFC Welterweight Title, but White is thinking of matching him up with longtime rival Leon Edwards.
