Dana White Says A Dominick Cruz Win At UFC 249 May Be The “Biggest Upset Ever”

UFC Bantamweight Champion Henry Cejudo will defend the gold against former UFC Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz in the co-main event of UFC 249.

Dana White believes that if Cruz were to win at UFC 249, it would be the biggest upset ever.

UFC 300 Weigh Ins

“100 percent. I think it’s the biggest upset ever (if it happens). Say what you want about Henry Cejudo, (if) you don’t like his personality, the guy is unbelievable and he’s looked incredible in his last several outings. He is the man right now (in) two different weight classes,” White said to BT Sport (via Adam Martin of BJPenn.com). “Dominick Cruz is the unluckiest fighter of all time. I mean the injuries that this guy’s had. If he can pull this off, it’s one of the biggest upsets. I’d put it right up there with Matt Serra vs. Georges St-Pierre.”

The reigning king for biggest upset in UFC history is when Matt Serra defeated Georges St. Pierre at UFC 69 to win the UFC Welterweight Title.

Cruz also hasn’t competed in over three years, as his last fight was a loss to former UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt in the co-main event of UFC 207.

UFC 249 takes place tonight from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida with Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
