UFC President Dana White is currently a part of the media tour alongside UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, who battle this August.
According to the UFC President, the United States President in Donald Trump wants to attend the super fight, but won’t be doing so because he’s afraid his presence would ruin the spectacle.
“I don’t think they’ll come, but they’ll be watching.” White said to the Washington Post. “He feels like he’ll ruin the event if he shows up. Secret Service is gonna have to go through the place, they’ll have to shut down streets and create crazy traffic.”
White and Trump have a long history together, as White spoke on Trump’s behalf during the Republican National Convention in 2016.
Despite some folks' opinion of the United States President, the UFC President says he is a stand up fellow.
“I’m telling you I’ve dealt with him for 16 years and everything about this guy has been as stand-up as stand-up can be,” says White.
Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
