The altercation ended with Werdum assaulting Covington with a boomerang and UFC President Dana White says that the former heavyweight champion cannot go around assaulting people.

"No, I don’t laugh, that’s not funny,” White said at a media luncheon. "Believe me, I get it, I get it that Colby disrespected Brazil and all the Brazilian people. I know how Brazilians get about that stuff. You just can’t go around assaulting people, you know? You just can’t do it. It’s bad.”

Werdum is expected to return to the country in a few weeks to appear in court after charges were filed against him by Covington.

White also says that he is getting ready to meet with Werdum to discuss a variety of topics and possibly bury the hatchet.

"When I was driving here today to meet you guys, Werdum texted me and said ‘I wanna come out, I wanna meet, I wanna sit down.’ I haven’t been willing to meet with him for a while now. And I texted him back and said ‘let's do it.’ So me and Werdum are gonna sit down, try to hug and make up,” says White.

Covington had been taken a lot of shots at Brazilian people as of late, even referring to them as “filthy animals” at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo.
