There has been no official plan announced yet by the UFC as to how a new champion would get crowned, but UFC President Dana White does have an idea on how to get things done.

White said at the UFC Fight Night Nashville post-fight show (via Steven Marrocco of MMA Junkie). ?It seems like a good fight to make with the whole Dillashaw thing now, and then you do (Formiga) versus Benavidez on the same card ? anything goes wrong, one of them can step up and take the fight, and then the winner of that fight is the guaranteed No. 1 contender for the next (flyweight) shot.?
Although White did lay out the potential title fight and backup fighters, a timeline hasn?t been established as to when it could all go down.
If Cejudo does get the crack at the UFC Bantamweight Title, it would give him a chance to be just one of a select group of fighters two simultaneously hold two titles in two different weight classes in the UFC. Moreas has yet to challenge for gold while in the UFC, but was the first and only WSOF Bantamweight Champion.
