Dana White Says It Was Right To Pay Tribute To George Floyd & Albert Capanna

The UFC returned to action last night with UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns, which was headlined by Gilbert Burns defeating former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley by unanimous decision.

A tribute appeared for the late George Floyd and Albert Capanna during the broadcast, which is a move that UFC President Dana White says was the right thing to do.

?We did (one) for him and (one) for the Nevada State Athletic Commission doctor who just passed away, too, who was a great guy,? White said at a post-fight news conference (via Nolan King & John Morgan of MMA Junkie). ?(He) did a lot of the fights and did a lot of the ?TUF? fights. (We did it) because we should. What happened was horrible and it?s something that?s really affecting this country right now and the world. There are riots going on everywhere across the world right now. It was the right thing to do.?

Both tributes were also posted on the UFC Twitter page after they aired on the broadcast:
