Endeavor, who is the UFC’s parent company, is reportedly laying off or furloughing at least 2,500 employees in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

UFC President Dana White says those Endeavor layoffs won’t affect anybody in the UFC, because none of his employees are losing their jobs.

“No layoffs in the UFC,” White said to Kevin Iole Of Yahoo Sports (via Anton Tabuena of Bloody Elbow). “None of my people will be laid off. Not happening. A lot of people are losing their jobs, and can’t pay their bills. People like to talk s—t. People think they know me. They don’t know anything about me. You find out who the real people are when shit goes bad... Let me tell you what, all the people that are with me, are with me. I will always take care of my people.”

No UFC fighters, office personnel or other UFC employees have been laid off thus far during the pandemic.

The UFC President does predict though that a lot of people in the media will lose their jobs soon.

“A lot of the media were going crazy about me trying to pull off the fight last weekend. A lot of the media are going to get laid off pretty soon. This is just the beginning,” White said. “We haven’t even had talks about going back to normal yet. When we get back to ‘normal,’ it’s going to be a very long time before things are normal again.”

There are a lot of members of the media that have been laid off during the pandemic and Poynter has kept a list of those layoffs.
