UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is going to be defending the gold against former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor next month in the main event of UFC 229.

Dana White is the UFC President and he believes the pay-per-view will bring in at least two millions buys.

“I am confident it will do 2 million on pay-per-view,” says White to Yahoo Sports.

It should be noted that since the UFC is a privately owned company, no pay-per-view buy rate numbers have to be released to the general public.

Ticket sales for the show were strong, with all of them selling out within three hours, plus no comps were given to anybody according to Yahoo Sports.

White knows that UFC 229 is going to be one of the most stacked cards of the year and the UFC President predicts that people are going to be blown away by what they see.

“Believe me when I tell you, this will be massive,” White said. “It’s going to blow people away how big this event will be.”

UFC 229 takes place on Saturday, October 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
