Dana White Says UFC Fighters Not Boxing Floyd Mayweather, Tells Mayweather To Fight In The UFC

Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor has already fought retired boxer Floyd Mayweather, while UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has expressed interest in boxing Mayweather as well.

UFC President Dana White says that if Mayweather wants to fight more UFC stars, it should happen in the Octagon instead of the boxing ring.

“If Mayweather wants to fight, come fight. Come fight in the UFC. We’re not boxing again. We did that once, that’s over. You want to fight, come fight. You want to fight, come fight. A real fight,” White said to TMZ.

Mayweather and McGregor have gone back and forth about a potential UFC encounter, but nothing came of it.

White also says that he is still interested in getting involved in boxing, but everything is being handled one step at a time.

“We’re getting into boxing 100%, for sure. I’m not diving in head first, I’m dipping my toe in,” says White.

Nurmagomedov has no professional boxing experience to speak of, meaning a potential bout against Mayweather would mark his professional boxing debut. Nurmagomedov does have twenty six fights worth of professional MMA experience though, with eight wins coming by way of KO/TKO.
