Dana White Says UFC Fighters Want Later Weigh-Ins

MMA

UFC President Dana White recently stated that the promotion is looking to end the early weigh-ins in favor of making the ceremonial weigh-ins the official version.

It would appear that White has spoken to many UFC fighters about the subject and he says many are in favor of eliminating the earlier weigh-ins.

“Believe me, we’ve studied it,” White said at the UFC 225 post-fight press conference. “The numbers don’t lie. We’ve talked to fighters. A ton of fighters want to go back to 4 o’clock (weigh-ins), and there’s a lot of fighters that don’t.”

White did not mention any specific fighters who he spoke to, but a lot of those under a UFC deal have gone for and against the change via social media.

The UFC President seemingly got tired of the questions about the weigh-in situation this past weekend before saying they will happen at their old 4pm time slot.

“We still talking about weigh-ins?” White stated. “They’re at 4 o’clock. Thank you.”

There is now word on when the later weigh-ins will officially return, as the UFC will have to work that out with the various athletic commissions.
